new dance program

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new dance program at Los Gatos Elite! As a sports organization committed to positively impacting children's lives, we believe that dance can be a powerful tool to achieve this goal.

Dance is a perfect complement to gymnastics, ninja, and aerial arts. We are excited to bring this offering to our community and give every child the opportunity to experience the transformative power of dance. Not only is dance a fun and engaging way for children to explore their creativity, but it also provides numerous benefits for their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Our experienced instructors are passionate about helping children discover the joy of dance while also providing a safe and nurturing environment. We are thrilled to introduce our dance program director, Claire Alexander, who has been an arts educator, director, and choreographer for over 20 years with students ranging from pre-K to adult.

WHY DANCE?

Incorporating creative movement and improvisation techniques into a gymnast's training can also bring the following valuable benefits.

  • Improved Body Awareness: Dance training helps gymnasts become more aware of their bodies, allowing them to control their movements better and improve their technique in gymnastics.

  • Increased Flexibility and Strength: By learning new movements and techniques in dance, gymnasts can increase their flexibility and strength, which can positively impact their gymnastics skills.

  • Improved Performance and Artistry: Dance training helps gymnasts become more graceful, expressive, and confident performers, which can make their gymnastics routines more dynamic and aesthetically pleasing

  • Enhanced Mental Focus and Concentration: Dance requires intense focus and concentration, which can help gymnasts improve their mental focus and concentration during gymnastics competitions.

  • Improved Musicality: By learning about music and how it relates to movement, gymnasts can improve their musicality and synchronize their routines with the music.

These techniques can help gymnasts develop their own unique style, become more creative, and break free from the limitations of traditional gymnastics routines. In addition, Studies have shown that cross-training in dance can greatly enhance a gymnast's performance.
